Village Tree was inspired by the community in Lennox, where the residents have come from various parts of Latin America, Africa, and south LA have formed a tight-knit community. We created a structure that functions like a tree in the center of the village. The colorful discs with cutout shapes of tropical plants represent parts of the Latin American landscapes where 95% of the residents originate from. The sculptural shading provides a colorful visual focal point for the courtyard, and adds a shaded hangout area, transforming the formerly banal courtyard into a welcoming and visually stimulating environment.
