Painted stainless steel, LED light show driven by data
32’w x 18’d x 17’h
This shade structure was inspired by today’s libraries function as a portal for data and information research and community center. The shape of the sculpture was inspired by a sheet of paper which was broken into pixels representing the history of data storage from analog to the present and future of digital data. At night, the sculpture's underside is lit by LED light that creates a mesmerizing light show which is driven by historical data set indices, such as weather patterns and oil price, relating to its site as an active Hurricane zone and oil producing region.
